Chapter 01

Getting Started

Open the app and install it on your phone

No app store needed. The Digital Broker runs in your browser and can be added to the home screen of any iPhone or Android phone in seconds.

How to open the Digital Broker

The Digital Broker is a web app. You don't need to install anything — just open this address in your browser.

You will see the login screen with the J. Müller Chartering logo.If the green dot says “Servers are online” — you're good to go.

Chapter 02

Install on iPhone

Add the Digital Broker to your home screen

It works just like a real app — full-screen, with its own icon, and right at your thumb.

Tap the Share button in Safari

Open digital-broker-jmc.de in Safari (very important — not Chrome on iPhone). Then tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen — it looks like a small square with an arrow pointing up.

Use Safari on your iPhone.Only Safari can add a website to the home screen on iOS.

Tap the Share icon in the bottom toolbar.The icon looks like ↑ — a square with an arrow.

A menu slides up from the bottom — keep it open for the next step.

If you can't see the toolbar, just tap once on the bottom of the screen — it will reappear.

Choose “Add to Home Screen”

Scroll down inside the share menu and tap “Add to Home Screen” (in German: “Zum Home-Bildschirm”). Confirm with Add in the top-right corner.

Tap Add in the upper right corner.The JMC icon now appears on your home screen — just like a normal app.

Done! Tap the new Digital Broker icon on your home screen any time — it opens full-screen, without browser bars.

Chapter 03

Install on Android

Add the Digital Broker to your home screen

Works in Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet — almost every Android browser.

Add to home screen on Android

On most Android phones, the browser will show a small banner at the bottom that says “Install app” or “Add to home screen”. If it doesn't appear, here's how to do it manually.

Open Chrome and go to digital-broker-jmc.de.

Tap the three-dots menu in the top-right corner.On Samsung Internet, it might be at the bottom.

Tap “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.On German devices: Zum Startbildschirm hinzufügen or App installieren.

Confirm with Add / Install.The JMC icon appears on your home screen.

After installing, you'll find a Digital Broker icon just like any other app — usually on the last page of your home screen.

Chapter 04

Log in

Access your personal Digital Broker

Your login is private and only for authorised users of J. Müller Chartering.

Use the email and password we provided you. Tick “Keep me signed in on this device” if it's your own phone — no need to log in every time.

Tick “Keep me signed in on this device” for faster access next time.

Tap the big Log in button.

At the top you'll see useful live info: server status, last database update and the current bunker price used for calculation.

Forgot password — easy reset

No problem. On the login screen, simply tap the small blue link “Forgot password?” next to the password field.

Enter the email address of your account.

You'll receive an email from noreply@jmcmail.de with a reset link.Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a minute.

Click the link and choose a new password.The link is valid for 60 minutes.

Still no email? Just contact your broker at J. Müller Chartering — we'll reset it for you.

Chapter 05

Make an Indication

Get a freight rate in seconds

Tell the Digital Broker what you want to ship, where, and when. It does the rest.

Fill in your shipment details

Five simple fields. You can tap each one and choose from a list — no typing of port names required.

Quantity (mt) — how much cargo, in metric tonnes.

Layday — earliest possible loading date.

Commodity — choose from the dropdown (Agri Products, Steel, etc.).

Load Port — where the cargo is loaded.

Discharge Port — where the cargo is delivered.

As long as one field is missing, the Calculate Indication button stays grey and inactive. Once everything is filled, it turns into a bold blue-red gradient — ready to tap.

When all fields are completed, the button activates. One tap — and the calculation starts.

Chapter 06

Your Result

Three possible outcomes — explained

Depending on your route and the available slots, you'll see one of three results. Each one tells you exactly what to do next.

Indication with Freight Advantage −10%

The very best outcome. The Digital Broker shows the market indication and a discounted Freight Advantage rate — exclusively reserved for our digital customers.

Market Indication — the standard freight rate, e.g. 18 EUR / mt.

Freight Advantage Slots Available — the green tag means you qualify.Each month has a limited number of slots. They are shown as bars.

−10% discount — e.g. 16,25 EUR / mt. A real, firm reduction.

Tap “Request firm offer” to start the booking process.

When the customer presses Request firm offer, one Freight Advantage slot is automatically blocked for them for the selected month.

Before the request is actually sent, the Digital Broker shows a clean summary so the customer can review everything one last time.

The customer's Freight Advantage slot is locked for the month — no double-booking possible.

Indication without Freight Advantage no discount

The Digital Broker still gives you a clear market rate — but no discount is available right now. This happens when the slots for the month are taken, the layday is too close, or the route is outside the Freight Advantage programme.

“No Freight Advantage slot available!” appears in red.The slot bars show how many are already blocked for the month.

The customer can still tap “Request firm indication” — a broker will follow up with a real offer.

Or tap “Calculate another indication” to try a different layday or quantity.

Common reasons for no discount: layday less than 10 days away, all monthly slots booked, or route not part of the Freight Advantage programme.

Chapter 07

No automatic indication?

The Digital Broker connects you to a real broker

Some routes cannot be priced automatically — but the Digital Broker still gets you a fast, personal answer.

No automatic indication for this route

For inner-range routes (very short distances) or other special cases, an automatic price doesn't make sense — the Digital Broker shows a friendly screen and lets you contact a real broker with one tap.

Tap “Contact Broker” — your full request is sent to a real person.The broker uses the contact info from your profile to reach back out.

Or tap “Calculate another indication” to try a different route or cargo.
